This is one of my older mayfly inventions. Like most Muddler patterns it is designed to be fished dibbled in the surface film to create a wake / an illusion of the hatching or struggling fly. It is still an extremely popular pattern at mayfly time. Generally fished on the top dropper. Wet Mayfly patterns are numerous and vary greatly in colour, some bearing little resemblance to the hatching natural fly.
